OKA Shingo was born in 1958 Nagasaki, Japan.
Trained at the Saga prefecture Experimental Ceramics center, Design and Painting Program. Worked for several Bizen kilns for 10 years from 1982. In 1993, set out on his own kiln in Nishiarita-cho. Moved to Hamatama-machi, Karatsu City and established the Tenpyougama kiln. His styles vary from painted and sometsuke (indigo dyed) porcelain, white porcelain, and Annan (current Vietnum) one. He is always sensitive to user-friendliness such as easy handling, moderate size and weight, and smooth and dignified texture. His works will make you feel what are the natural comforts.
