洗練されたフォルムに、温かみのある削り跡を纏ったカトラリー
山形県で生まれ育ち、工芸の道へ進み京指物や漆工芸を学んだ後、故郷に戻り独立された町田さん。現在は天然木を使ったあたたかみ溢れるスプーンやフォーク等、日常使いの道具を中心に制作しています。
一点一点手で削り出している為、削りの跡がしっかり残っており、ほど良く手になじみ、握り易いのが特徴です。
Born and brought up in mountainous Yamagata prefecture, part of Tohoku region.
After studying Kyo-sashimono (Kyoto-style sashimono (*))and urushi crafts,she returned to Yamagata for starting a career as a woodworking artist. Her major works are tools for daily life including spoons and folks made of natural woods which add warmth to them.
Each item is chiseled by hand leaving marks clearly. It fits comfortably in your hand being easy to grip.
(*) Sashimono: Furniture and other household things made by assembling wooden pieces without any joint parts such as nails.
