Ms. Chizuru Naito, dried flower artist, has headed a dried flower class “grue” in Nerima-ku, Tokyo.
New Year’s decorations, which are thought to be lucky charms, are adorned with preserved plants and hand-made paper called “Ogawa washi”, one of the high-quality traditional papers. Her hand-made items are all warm-hearted and carry scent of nature, which make you feel a sense of the season.
Adding her own arrangements to Scandinavian traditional straw work, she created unique Christmas ornaments tied with Kyo Kumihimo (Kyoto braided cord). They will increase their brightness due to aging.
