手紙にわくわくを 素朴な美を細やかに表現する山岡さんの起こし文
扇や風呂敷のように「広げて使って畳んで仕舞える」といった日本の文化にも通じる起こし文。
紙の素朴さを大切にしつつ、手紙に和と四季を織り込む独自の作風は、下町に今も息づく人情味と職人技をこよなく愛する中で紡ぎ出されたものです。
昔懐かしい町並や日々の暮らし、和をテーマにした四季折々の趣が感じられる作品の数々は、受け取った方の「笑顔」を連想させる「やさしい」コミュニケーションツールです。
こちらのはがきは、通常はがき63円切手を貼って、そのままポストに投函していただけます。
YAMAOKA Susumu’s pop-up cards have something in common with other traditional products in Japan, like sensu (fan) and furoshiki (dyed wrapping cloth), as they are all spread and folded in use.
Susumu weaves the taste of Japanese culture and the essence of four seasons into the cards. Such style has developed through his life in a downtown of Tokyo where humanity and respect for artisans are still highly valued.
Motifs of the cards are reminiscent of good old days and people’s daily life in the town and a sense of each season. They may make the recipient of the card smile.
This card can be posted soon after a regular stamp of JPY63 is pasted.

特別仕様の街並みはがき
「日常使いの伝統工芸」をコンセプトとして生まれたWISE・WISE tools（ワイス・ワイス トゥールス）。2007年3月に六本木・東京ミッドタウンの開業と同時にオープンしたお店は、2017年3月末で10周年を迎えました。
10周年のお祝いとして、開店当時からご一緒させていただいている起こし文作家の山岡進さんにご協力いただき、toolsオリジナルの記念アイテムが誕生しました。
This card was made as the 10th anniversary of our shop WISE-WISE tools at Tokyo Midtown in Roppongi, opened in March 2007.
Susumu is one of the few artists whom we have been working together since the opening. He kindly accepted our request to produce this special item.

山岡さんに制作いただいたのは、昼と夜の六本木の風景をモチーフにした街並みはがき・オリジナルバージョン。
お昼の方は、東京ミッドタウンをバックにtoolsの店舗の様子を再現。商品も実際にお店で取り扱っているものが並んでいます。
夜の六本木バージョンは、六本木交差点の「ROPPONGI」サインと東京タワーを中心にカラフルなビルが立ち並び、たくさんの車や人で賑わっています。少しバブリーで昭和風味が漂う懐かしい雰囲気も。
また、組み立てるとかなり奥行きのあるデザインで、覗き込むとその遠近感から、はがきの中へ引き込まれるような感覚を覚えます。
This item is a package of two cards for View of Roppongi in Day and Night, respectively.
The “Day” is reproduction of our shop, WISE-WISE tools, with Tokyo Midtown in the background. Displayed items in the card are in fact sold at the actual shop.
The “Night” shows a bustling night view of Roppongi with many cars and people on roads and streets under Tokyo Tower and colorful commercial buildings. That might be the reminiscent of the days of the bubble economy.
Once the parts of the card are popped up, it looks more three-dimensional than you originally expected. Its perspective may make you feel as if the card are about to take you in.

The special package for the 10th anniversary, as in the picture above, is no longer on sale. Since December 2018, the cards are packed only in the usual clear bags.
